Job Summary - Vice President, Media Strategy
The Vice President of Media Strategy will develop and execute initiatives with the Executive Leadership Team and across PureCars stakeholders to deliver exceptional media performance across all channels and for all clients, ultimately improving client satisfaction and profitability. This person will oversee our largest team at PureCars and will own all components of our digital advertising product delivery. Not only will this role oversee all the operations back of house like ad ops, design, blueprints, compliance and tools, but they will also oversee the team that leads media strategy for enterprise, mid-market and Tier 1-3 OEM programmatic media.
This person should consider themselves the owner of all media spend at PureCars and look at the whole as their business unit. KPIs will include pacing, spend, budget growth, revenue after expenses, OEM compliance, SLAs and more.
This is a high profile role that will communicate and set the tone of our media performance while serving as an escalation point for high value client-facing needs. They will also be responsible for attracting, hiring, coaching, and retaining top media talent.
What You’ll Do:
- Act as the expert in all media-related matters at PureCars. Help us make decisions, create strategies and gain efficiencies.
- Liaise with Product and Dev, Sales and Customer Experience to create a seamless offering and ensure PureCars is the best in the business.
- Represent PureCars and own media partnerships such as Google, Meta, Microsoft and Amazon as well as vendor partnerships such as Fluency, Transitiv, Media Monks and others
- Lead and develop a team of lifecycle marketing strategists responsible for delivering data-driven customer engagement campaigns trafficked through our automotive CDP, driving retention, re-engagement, and incremental revenue for dealer clients
- Fully own and improve KPIs in the media org:
- Pacing
- Customer Satisfaction
- Industry metrics such as CPC, CPO, Traffic and other metrics important to our clients and our OEM partners
- Case SLAs
- GP per person
- OEM Compliance
- Cases per person and other efficiency metrics
- Be a change agent within PureCars, help define new models and processes to improve and grow our business
- Establish and monitor goals that help the media teams improve; understanding how their actions and performance are critical links to company objectives
- Assist in the recruiting and training of Directors and Managers of Digital Media + Ad Operations as well as Performance Strategists to ensure we secure and retain A-level talent
- Product and feature ideation
- Recommendations on improvement of Ad Set Collections, Ad Builds, Templates, Creative Assets (Using PureCars proprietary tools such as AdBuilder, FeedBuilder, Incentives Manager)
- Following through with the complete product cycle (spec, creation, performance analysis, reiteration, etc)
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of our commitment to OEM and Automotive compliance guidelines
- Provide recurring feedback to external (vendor) and internal (Account Manager, Performance Strategists, Product, and Development teams) partners to further the refinement of our AdBuilder product offering, in pursuit of automation and client-desired features/functionality

The Skills and Experience You Bring:
- 10+ years experience with digital marketing and/or automotive marketing
- 5+ years experience leading and growing teams in the digital marketing space
- Significant experience in digital media and omnichannel marketing
- Significant experience in advertising automation solutioning, covering creative asset creation / trafficking, dynamic omnichannel campaigns (paid search, performance max, VA’s, programmatic display, online video, OTT, paid social, AIA, etc).
- Proficiency in systems like Skai, Marin, Fluency or similar
- Experience with automotive CDP platforms and a strong understanding of lifecycle marketing strategy, including audience segmentation, first-party data activation, and multi-channel campaign execution
- Experience with DCO
- Deep understanding of Google, Meta, Amazon and DSP’s along with URL structures and tagging solutions.
- Understanding of the Adobe Suite and has demonstrated leveraging this knowledge to further out-of-the-box tools to make their team more efficient.
- Ability to analyze data from search engines, analytics packages, and internal data and make actionable decisions and recommendations
- Detail oriented while possessing the ability to manipulate large, multi-faceted data sets in Excel/Sheets through advanced tactics
- Ability to learn and adapt and in a rapidly-changing environment
- Desire to coach a team and participate in development of individual team members
- Self-starter with proven success as both a manager and an accomplished individual contributor
- Excellent writing and strong/persuasive presentation skills
- Proven ability to lead a team through a constantly changing environment, product enhancements and rapid growth
- Exceptional at detecting the need for and driving internal change
- Bachelor Degree Required
Salary: $175,000-$200,000
